Connect AI tools
Give AI-generated HTML a built-in editor. Connect once, then call PageOn before delivering the file.
1. Choose your AI tool
Connect, check that the tools are available, then create your first free editable HTML file.
Codex: use the PageOn plugin
Follow the installation guide, sign in to PageOn and authorize in your browser, then return to Codex and start a new task. No manual credential copying is needed.
Open the Codex plugin guideThe download connects to the production service at pageon.cc through a personal marketplace. It is not yet listed in the public plugin directory.
Connect Codex manually (without the plugin)
Keep the personal credential in your local secret settings and make it available as PAGEON_TOKEN to the process that starts your AI tool. Never put the real value in chat, HTML, or project configuration.
Merge this into ~/.codex/config.toml, preserving existing settings. Skip manual setup if the plugin is already connected. Restart Codex, then check PageOn in /mcp.

url = "https://pageon.cc/mcp"
bearer_token_env_var = "PAGEON_TOKEN"Official client setup docsBrowser authorization is available to clients registered with PageOn, including the existing Codex plugin. Manual connections use personal Bearer credentials; other OAuth-only clients cannot connect with just the server URL.
2. Check that the tools are connected
Open your client’s MCP tool list (/mcp in Codex or Claude Code). Confirm PageOn is connected and all four tools below are available. Checking connectivity and tool discovery costs no Credits and does not upload HTML.
create_html_uploadPrepare a temporary upload
enhance_htmlFree text editing and text notes
enhance_html_premiumCharacter notes and advanced offline tools: 1 Credit per HTML with explicit authorization
complete_html_uploadClean up only after saving and reading back the local file
Check the PageOn MCP connection and list its available tools. Do not upload files or call enhancement or paid tools in this step.
Your client may add a prefix to tool names. A saved server URL alone is not a successful connection. Reconnect if tools are missing, then use the troubleshooting guidance below if needed.
3. Create your first editable HTML file
Create a simple HTML page with a heading and paragraph. Use PageOn’s free enhance_html to add basic editing and save a new HTML file beside the original, keeping the original. You may send this HTML to PageOn for temporary processing. Clean up temporary files only after saving and reading back the result. Do not use paid tools.
Your client follows the tools’ instructions to upload, enhance, download and save. Open the new HTML, click Edit, change some text, then Save copy.
AI tool previews may block scripts or downloads. Open the downloaded file in a browser in that case. Dynamic pages may overwrite edits when rerendering; check the returned compatibility warnings.
Standard enhancement and text notes are free, even with zero Credits. Character notes, advanced offline tools and debranding cost 1 Credit per HTML and require separate, explicit authorization. Connecting does not authorize spending.
Personal access credentials
Manage access credentials in your personal space. Sign in to create, copy or revoke credentials on the AI integrations page.

Ask the AI tool to prepare a signed upload, enhance the uploaded session, download the result JSON and save its html field as a new file, then confirm cleanup. Keep the original.
Preferred flow: create_html_upload with fileName, byte size, lang and tier; upload directly, then enhance with sessionId and credential (and the same requestId for premium). The credential argument is the short-lived upload-session credential, never your account access token. Download resultUrl JSON (or join resultUrls in order as bytes before parsing JSON), save and read back html locally, then call complete_html_upload with sessionId, credential and the matching tier.
Session calls return a download URL. Standard results contain complete HTML, a suggested filename, compatibility information, and creditsUsed: 0. Standard enhancement is free, even with zero Credits, and includes basic text editing and text notes without spending Credits. For character notes (built-in characters, custom images and random animations), advanced offline tools (font, color, opacity, duplicate, sibling drag sorting, history and reset) and debranding, explicitly authorize paid export with enhance_html_premium: 1 Credit per HTML from the credential owner's balance. Also pass a UUID requestId; retries must reuse the ID and all inputs to avoid duplicate charges. Recovery is available for 7 days while the output version is unchanged. Never switch IDs after an uncertain settlement.
Files open in browse mode. Click Edit to change text and SVG text, then Save copy to download. The Runtime stays in the file and works offline without sign-in. Original fonts, images, and scripts may still need a network connection.
Files and privacy
Files use private temporary storage. Cloud input and output are deleted after local saving is confirmed; scheduled cleanup removes leftovers. Short-lived sessions include filename, size, ownership, credential hash and expiry. Call logs contain no HTML. Original scripts are preserved but never executed on the server.
Limits and troubleshooting
Maximum original HTML size is 50 MB UTF-8, matching the website. We recommend 10 MB or less; larger files take longer to upload and process. Please be patient. Use create_html_upload and direct transfer, then enhance by session reference. Inline compatibility calls allow 1 MiB; MCP control requests allow 2 MiB. Each credential allows up to 60 requests per minute, including connection and tool discovery requests.
401: check for invalid, expired or revoked credentials or sign-in authorization. For environment-based setup, confirm PAGEON_TOKEN is available to the current client process. 429: rate or temporary capacity limit; retry later. 413: use signed transfer for files within 50 MiB, or reduce oversized files. 503: service unavailable. If preview has no editor, open the downloaded file.
